About the Author
Saad Facchine is a Muslim and LGBTQIA+ writer living with his husband. His debut novel, five years in the making, weaves questions of faith, queerness, and technology into a story about choice, control, and love.
By day, Saad works in artificial intelligence and data, helping organizations understand how technology can both empower and constrain us. By night (and many weekends), he writes fiction that bridges those same themes, always searching for the human heart inside the machinery.
When he's not writing or working, you'll probably find him with a cup of chai, planning his next trip, or getting lost in the kind of story that lingers long after the last page.
Writing Journey
Creating the Awaz
How I used programming language syntax to create the Awaz—the voice inside my protagonist Kamaal—in The Model Muslim. From code comments to inner dialogue, exploring the intersection of technology and storytelling.
Babies Can't Read
Five years ago, I started writing a novel from a baby's perspective. It took me five years, 30,000 deleted words, and a complete rewrite to realize the simple truth: babies can't read. Here's the story of how The Model Muslim evolved from a glittering mess into something that actually sounds like me.
